Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday was sworn in as Haryana’s chief minister for the second term while Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) Dushyant Chautala, took oath as his deputy.
The ceremony took place at Chandigarh’s Raj Bhavan.
Khattar was administered the oath of office by governor Satyadeo Narain Arya in Chandigarh.
“Sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana at Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh today. It is a privilege for me that I have once again got the opportunity to serve the people of the state. I am grateful to the people of the state for the immense affection, blessings and support,” Khattar said in a tweet.
The ceremony was attended by Senior BJP leaders and a number of State and central ministers.
The BJP which has won 40 seats in 90-member Assembly, fell six short of the halfway mark needed to form the next government. The Congress won 31 seats, Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) 10 and others registered 9.
