Holi…the festival of colors is round the corner, if you are planning to play safe, go for these natural colors. Made of Rose, Turmeric,  Spinach, Beetroot and Marigold flowers these colors will not only prove to be skin friendly but will make your festival look vibrant. An initiative of an NGO “Ek Soch foundation” motive of which is to empower women. The Gulal made by them are not only eco-friendly but are also low priced.

These natural colors are made by the rural women in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. In order to strengthen women Ek Soch Foundation is training the women and girls in small towns and villages. According to Vimla Devi, member of this NGO, this is the first time that they have trained these women in making natural, chemical free colors ( Gulal) for Holi. The colors available in the market are full of chemicals, spoiling our skin, we have seen many people complaining about skin infections, skin dryness after playing Holi. So we decided this time to bring something natural in the market. We are getting good response from the people. Although we are selling these colors in Noida, Uttar Pradesh this time but from next year we will try to distribute in other states also. This will not only add happiness to your festival but will also provide bread and butter to these economically weaker women of the society, she added.

India has a rich tradition of giving women the opportunity to excel in all fields. By empowering the women we can empower our society. Ek Soch Foundation is based in Noida, are doing a commendable job by providing free training to the women in micro business for their livelihood.
