In a massive jolt to BJP, Mukul Roy along with his son Subhranshu returned to his former party Trinamool on Friday.
All the prominent leaders of TMC, including CM Mamata Banerjee, party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, Subrata Bakshi, Partha Chatterjee and Subrata Mukherjee were present in the event to welcome Mukul Roy.
While interacting with the reporters, Mukul Roy said -“I feel great at seeing my old colleagues, after leaving the BJP. I can’t be in the BJP. Nobody will remain in the BJP.” He went on to describe the Chief Minister as “the only leader of Bengal and India”.
Mukul Roy was TMC General Secretary when he quit the party, now Chief Minister’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee is holding this post.
Abhishek Banerjee last week visited Mr Roy at the hospital where his wife is admitted.
