Mahatma Gandhi death anniversary: President Kovind, PM Modi, other leaders pay tribute at Rajghat

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his 72nd death anniversary at Raj Ghat, New Delhi.

“A tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary. The ideals of Bapu will continue to inspire us to build a strong, capable and prosperous New India,” PM Modi tweeted.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, former prime minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh were among those who paid homage to the Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu in a tweet said, “I join the nation in paying my humble tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary today. Mahatma Gandhi’s life and message of peace and non-violence are relevant for all times and find resonance in every part of the world.”
