A massive fire broke out in an eight-storey building in the posh Park Street area in Kolkata on Monday morning.
According to reports, the blaze erupted at the server room on the fifth floor of Apeejay House which houses several corporate offices and headquarters of the Apeejay Surendra Group.
Ten fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
All the people in the building were evacuated, fire department officials said.
No casualties have been reported so far.
“A light smoke was seen around 11 am, but at 11.30 am flames were seen gushing out of windows with thick black smoke,” sources said.
Kolkata traffic police said, due to a fire incident on Park Street, traffic is slow on Camac Street towards Park Street.
