Kerala governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Saturday said that he has tested positive for the coronavirus.
The governor requested those who came in his contact with him to get themselves tested.
The official Twitter handle of the Governor read: “I have tested positive for Covid19.But, there is no cause for concern. However, I request all those who had contact with me in NewDelhi last week to test for Covid, or be under observation to be on the safe side.”
Kerala has so far over 80,000 active COVID-19 cases with 1640 fatalities.
With 50,356 fresh cases of the coronavirus and 577 deaths in the past 24 hours, India’s tally stands at 84,62,080, while the death toll rose to 1,25,562, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 78,19,886 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 5,16,632 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
