At least 25 people were killed on Saturday after the bus they were travelling in fell into a canal in South Karnataka.
The accident took place after the vehicle plunged into VC canal of the Cauvery river in Kanaganamaradi village in Mandya, nearly 105 km from Bengaluru.
Farmers working in nearby fields started rescue work immediately.
Police officers and the personnel from the fire and emergency services were rushed to the spot.
According to the reports, Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has cancelled all his programmes and will rush to the spot soon.
Meanwhile the rescue operations are underway at the spot and the injured passengers were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
