The family members of murdered Hindu Samaj Party leader Kamlesh Tiwari on Sunday met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his residence.
Tiwari was killed in an attack at his house in Lucknow on Friday.
Tiwari’s family had earlier demanded a National Investigation Agency (NIA)-led probe in the matter saying they don’t trust the state administration.
Satyam Tiwari on Saturday said that he wanted the NIA to investigate the case. “My father was killed although he had security guards, how can we possibly trust the administration then?” Satyam added.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath termed the murder an act of mischief to create terror.
Adityanath said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been set up to probe 45-year-old Tiwari’s murder.
