Jharkhand HC says ‘attack on judiciary’: Dhanbad Judge case

The Jharkhand high court on Thursday pulled up the state government, over the delay in filing of the FIR for Jharkhand additional district judge Uttam Anand.

The court said this incident and another —the alleged murder of an advocate in the Tamar area of Ranchi recently were a direct attack on the “justice dispensation system.”

The judge was killed on Wednesday morning in a road accident after he was hit by an auto-rickshaw during his morning walk in Dhanbad. He had been hearing some high profile “sensitive criminal.

Bar associations of the Supreme Court, the HC and Dhanbad courts demanded a CBI investigation into the case.

The Dhanbad Police have filed a murder case after CCTV camera footage of the incident showed the auto-rickshaw intentionally turn over on an empty road to hit down judge Uttam Anand.
