At least five Naxals were killed on Tuesday morning in an encounter with security forces in Jharkhand.
According to the sources, five naxals were neutralised and one critically injured in West Singhbhum district.
In the early hours on Tuesday, security forces comprising of the Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF’s) 209 CoBRA battalion and state police launched a special operation to target Naxals in the areas, said officials.
In the ensuing exchange of fire, the forces managed to neutralise five naxals and injure one.
However, no casualties and injuries of troops involved in the operation, have been reported so far.
Two AK-47 rifles, a 303 rifle and pistols were also recovered from the spot.
