Two terrorists surrendered on Tuesday during an encounter with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, police said.
The encounter broke out in Tongdounu area after security forces received specific input about the presence of terrorists there.
While the operation was underway, the families of the holed-up terrorists appealed to them to surrender.
The two local terrorists belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba surrendered before the security forces.
Police have also recovered incriminating materials including two pistols and ammunition from them.
Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet said, “During #encounter between #terrorists and Police/SFs at Tongdounu, #Kulgam, 02 local terrorists of LeT #surrendered on appeal of families. #Incriminating materials including 02 pistols & ammunition recovered.”
