Two terrorists were killed on Monday in a gunfight with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, an official said.
An Army officer and soldier were also injured in a gunfight. They were taken to a hospital for further treatment, official added.
The exchange of fire took place after personnel of the Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operations Group (SOG) of state police personnel surrounded the Bidoora village in Achabal area after receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists there.
As the cordoned around the hiding terrorists was tightened, they fired upon the forces and the latter retaliated in which two terrorists were killed.
According to the sources, the exchange of fire is currently underway.
