Two terrorists were gunned down by security forces on Saturday morning in Khonmoh village in the outskirts of Srinagar district.
According to the sources, the terrorists had serious plans of carrying attack during Republic Day celebrations.
The operation was jointly carried out by Pampore Police, 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
There are reports of one more terrorist hiding in the area.
The security forces have cordoned off the area and are the search operation is underway.
Jammu and Kashmir police had earlier tweeted, “Encounter is in progress at #Khonmo area. SFs on job. Further details shall follow.”
