Two terrorists were killed in an encounter between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district on early Wednesday morning.
According to an official, the encounter took place in Gopalpora area of Chadoora town in Budgam district.
“02 #terrorists killed in the #encounter at #Chadoora. #Arms & ammunition recovered from the site of encounter. Their identities & affiliations are being ascertained. Case registered.” Jammu and Kashmir police tweeted.
This is the second encounter in the valley in last 24 hours
Jammu and Kashmir police earlier tweeted, “Brief exchange of fire at #Gopalpora #Chadoora in #Budgam. Area under cordon. Details will follow.”
Based on specific information about the presence of terrorists, a cordon and search operation was launched by security forces in the intervening night.
A gunfight broke out when the terrorists opened fire at the security forces. It was then that the two terrorists were pinned down by the security forces.
