A terrorist was killed on Monday in an encounter that broke out between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Awantipora.
Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet said, “01 unidentified #terrorist killed. #Operation going on. Further details shall follow.”
The exchange of fire broke out in Noorpora area of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district after receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists there.
Chinar Corps-Indian Army earlier tweeted, “Op Noorpura, Awantipura, Pulwama. Joint operation was launched based on @JmuKmrPolice inputs today evening. Cordon was laid and contact was established. Firefight ensued. Joint Operation in progress.”
The operation is currently underway.
