The higher reaches in Kashmir received fresh snowfall, while rains lashed plains on Tuesday resulting a drop in the temperature.
As per the officials, heavy snowfall forced the closure of the Srinagar-Leh national highway
The upper reaches of the valley including Gulmarg and Sonmarg tourist destinations received fresh snowfall.
According to a meteorological department official, light to moderate rain or snow is likely to be witnessed on higher reaches during next 24 hours to 36 hours.
On the other hand, Srinagar, received rains leading to landslides on the Jammu-Srinagar highway which disrupted traffic on Tuesday. The landslides were triggered by heavy rains in Digdole area.
