According to media reports, an encounter is underway on August 17 between security forces and terrorists in Karalgund area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara District.
A search operation is currently underway and Troops of 92 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), 32 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group cordoned off the area.
In the meantime, another encounter broke out between the security forces and terrorists in Hajin area of Bandipora District.
There is no report of casualties and injuries so far.
More details are awaited on the encounters underway in Kupwara and Bandipora.
The Kashmir has witnessed a sudden spurt in incidents of encounter since the past few months.
