An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces on Tuesday morning in Ratnipora area of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to sources, two terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area.
After receiving specific inputs about the presence of terrorist in the area, the search and cordon operation was launched by security forces.
“As the cordon was tightened, the terrorists fired indiscriminately, triggering an encounter,” an officer said.
Mobile and Internet services have also been suspended in the area.
Jammu and Kashmir police tweeted, “Brief exchange of fire at #Ratnipora #Pulwama. Area under cordon. Details will follow.”
