An encounter broke out on Monday between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district
A joint team of the police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search-operation in Verinag forests after receiving an input about the presence of terrorists there.
As the security forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet said, “#Encounter has started in the forest area of #Verinag-#Kapran area of #Anantnag. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.”
