Coronavirus cases in India rise to 4,25,282, Death toll at 13,699

The number of coronavirus cases in India have risen to 4,25,282 as it recorded 14,821 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. A total of 13,699 coronavirus patients have lost their lives, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday.

There are 1,74,387 active cases while 2,37,195 have been cured/discharged, according to Health Ministry data.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 1,32,075 with 6,170 fatalities.

Delhi has the second highest COVID-19 cases – 59,746 with 2,175 deaths, followed by Tamil Nadu – 59,377 cases and 757 deaths, Gujarat – 27,260 cases and 1,663 fatalities.

A total of 69,50,493 samples have been tested so far of which 1,43,267 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.
