Three terrorists were gunned down and a security personnel lost his life in an encounter that broke out between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district in the wee hours of Thursday, police said.
Following specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area, security forces were conducting search-and-cordon operation when the terrorists fired at them, leading to the encounter.
Kashmir Zone Police earlier tweeted, “#Pulwama update: #Encounter is in #progress at #Pulwama. Details will follow.”
Two more soldiers were also injured in the gunfight and have been taken to the hospital for further treatment.
