With 55,722 fresh cases of the coronavirus and 579 deaths in the past 24 hours, India’s tally stands at 75,50,273, while the death toll rose to 1,14,610, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 66,63,608 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 7,72,055 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 88.26%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 9.50 crore samples have been tested up to October 18 of which 8,59,786 samples were tested yesterday.
