India’s COVID-19 recoveries cross 15 lakh-mark: Health Ministry

The coronavirus recoveries in India have crossed the 15 lakh-mark, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare said on Monday.

Infections still remain concentrated in 10 states that contribute more than 80% of the new cases, it said.

“Recovery of more than 15 lakh has been made possible because of the policy of TESTING aggressively, TRACKING comprehensively & TREATING efficiently. Better ambulance services focus on Standard of Care & use of non-invasive oxygen have given desired results,” Health Ministry tweeted.

“#COVID19 infection still remains concentrated in 10 States that contribute more than 80% of the new cases,” it said.

The number of coronavirus cases worldwide nears 20 million with the United States remaining the worst affected country as more than half of the world’s COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the US.

The US has so far reported over 5 million COVID-19 cases, followed by Brazil, with nearly 3 million cases and the third worst-hit country is India, with over 21 lakh cases.

The virus which first originated from China’s Wuhan has infected at least 210 countries.
