India’s COVID-19 cases rise to 96,169, Death toll at 3,029

Coronavirus cases in India has risen to 96,169 with 3,029 deaths. There are 56,316 active cases while 36,823 have been cured/discharged, the Health Ministry said on Monday.

Maharashtra has highest COVID-19 cases – 33,053, followed by Gujarat – 11,379, Tamil Nadu – 11,224 and Delhi – 10,054.

Government of India on Sunday extended the lockdown till May 31 with new Guidelines. The new Guidelines for lockdown 4 give more power to states in making decisions.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman yesterday announced 5th and last tranche of the special economy package under Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Sitharaman detailed seven measures for providing employment, support to businesses, Ease of Doing Business, and State Governments as well sectors such as Education and Health.
