Global COVID-19 cases top 4.7 million

The novel coronavirus cases have exceeded 4.7 million globally, with over 3.1 lakh fatalities, according to the Johns Hopkins University.

The US is the worst affected country, leading the world in the number of both coronavirus infections and deaths.

More than 1.48 million have been infected from virus in the US and nearly 90,000 people have lost their lives.

Russia has the second highest number of COVID-19 infections in the world after the US, followed by the UK, Brazil, Spain and Italy.
