India’s COVID-19 cases rise to 11,55,191; Death toll at 28,084

The number of coronavirus cases in India have risen to 11,55,191 as it recorded 37,148 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. A total of 28,084 coronavirus patients have lost their lives, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

There are 4,02529 active cases while 7,24,577 have been cured/discharged, according to Health Ministry data.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 3,18,695 with 12,030 fatalities.

Tamil Nadu has the second highest COVID-19 cases – 1,75,678 with 2,551 deaths followed by Delhi – 1,23,747 and 3,663 deaths, Karnataka – 67,420 with 1,403 deaths, Andhra Pradesh – 53,724 and 696 deaths, Uttar Pradesh – 51,160 and 1,192 deaths and Gujarat – 49,353 and 2,162 fatalities.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Tuesday said a total of 1,43,81,303 samples have been tested up to July 20 of which 3,33,395 samples were tested yesterday.
