India’s COVID-19 cases has risen to 2,26,770 with 6,348 fatalities. There are 1,10,960 active cases while 1,09,461have been cured/discharged, the Health Ministry said on Friday.
Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has jumped to 77,793 with 2,710 fatalities, according to Health Ministry.
Tamil Nadu continues to be the second-worst hit state with 27,256 Covid-19 cases and 220 deaths, followed by Delhi with 25,004 cases and 650 deaths, Gujarat – 18,548 cases and 1,155 fatalities.
A total of 43,86,379 samples have been tested as on June 5, of which 1,43,661 samples have been tested in last 24 hours, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.
