Indian origin student from Telengana shot dead in US restaurant

A 25-year-old Indian origin student was shot dead at a restaurant in Kansas City in the US state of Missouri on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Sharath Kopuu of Telangana.

A man opened fire at Sharath Kopuu at J’s Fish and Chicken Market, where he worked as a part-time employee. Sharath, a student at University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), was critically injured after the fire and was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Kansas police have identified a suspect who was caught on CCTV camera in connection with the murder and released a video of the suspect. The incident is described as an armed robbery and a man hunt has been launched and a reward is being announced. “Looking for this suspect in the robbery & murder of 25-y.o. Sharath Kopuu at 5412 Prospect last night. Sharath was from India and is a student at UMKC. $10,000 reward for info leading to charges in this (& every KCMO murder),” Kansas police tweeted.

After getting the tragic information the deceased family at Telangana has requested state NRI Minister KT Rama Rao to provide help to bring back the dead body to India.
