Indian-origin dentist murdered in Sydney, body found in suitcase

A 32-year-old Indian-origin dentist in Sydney who went missing on Sunday has been found dead, police said according to reports in the Australian media.

The body of Dr Preethi Reddy was found on Tuesday in a suitcase in her car. According to the reports, Reddy was stabbed multiple times before being allegedly murdered.

Reddy was last seen waiting in line at McDonald’s in George Street on Sunday, police said.

Police further said that Preethi stayed at a hotel on Market Street in Sydney’s CBD on Sunday with her ex-boyfriend, who was also killed in an apparently ‘deliberate’ accident — a head-on collision on Monday night.

Preethi was first reported missing by her family on Sunday after she failed to come home after attending a dental conference in St Leonards at the weekend.

She last spoke to her family at around 11 am on Sunday and told them that she would head home after breakfast, and when she failed to return, her family contacted police.

While police are investigating the matter further, the family and colleagues of the dentist said that they were terrified by the news of her disappearance and death.
