India and Russia on November 27 conducted Indo-Russia Joint Military Exercise-INDRA 2018 in Madhya Pradesh’s Jhansi. This is the 10th edition of the military exercise INDRA and over 200 soldiers from both the nations participated in the exercise.
The exercise INDRA was totally aimed at increasing interoperability between Indian and Russian Armies.
The Joint military exercise was conducted at Army station in Babina’s field firing range and India’s Mechanised Infantry Regiment participated in the exercise while Russia was represented by company sized contingents of 5th Army.
The exercise was held to provide training to soldiers as well as to share best practices amongst militaries and hone existing skills of troops.
The exercise also focuses on understanding arms and ammunition of the two nations and to focus upon training on enhancing team building, special tactical level operations such as Cordon and Search, house intervention, handling and neutralization of Improvised Explosive Devices and integrated employment of force multipliers.
