India reports highest single-day spike of 14,516 COVID-19 cases, 375 deaths in last 24 hours

India’s COVID-19 cases have risen to 3,95,048 as it recorded 14,516 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. A total of 12,948 coronavirus patients have lost their lives, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday.

There are 1,68,269 active cases while 2,13,830 have been cured/discharged, according to Health Ministry data.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 1,24,331 with 5,893 fatalities.

Tamil Nadu continues to be the second-worst hit state with 54,449 COVID-19 cases and 666 deaths, followed by Delhi with 53,116 cases and 2,035 deaths, Gujarat – 26,141 cases and 1,618 fatalities.

A total of 66,16,496 samples have been tested so far of which 1,89,869 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.
