With 61,871 fresh cases of the coronavirus and 1,033 deaths in the past 24 hours, India’s tally stands at 74,94,552, while the death toll rose to 1,14,031, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 65,97,210 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 7,83,311 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 88.03%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 9.42 crore samples have been tested up to October 17 of which 9,70,173 samples were tested yesterday.
