Income Tax Department raids premises linked to former Karnataka deputy CM G Parameshwara

The income tax department on Thursday conducted raids at former Deputy chief minister of Karnataka G Parameshwara’s residence and other properties owned by him.

Around 30 premises linked to Parameshwara have been covered during these raids after the Income-tax Department found irregularities in medical college run by a trust related to him.

Raids were also conducted on properties owned by former Union minister RL Jalappa.

Former Karnataka CM and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah in a tweet said the raids were politically motivated with malafide intention.

“The series of IT raids on @DrParameshwara, RL Jalappa & others, are politically motivated with malafide intention. They are only targeting @INCKarnataka leaders as they have failed to face us on policy & corruption issues. We won’t budge to any such tactics!!” Siddaramaiah tweeted.
