Honeypreet gets bail in Panchkula violence case

A court on Wednesday granted bail to Honeypreet, the adopted daughter of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in a case related to the violence in Panchkula in 2017.

On Wednesday, Honeypreet submitted a bail application in court, four days after a court dropped sedition charges against her and 39 others.

Honeypreet has been in judicial custody in Ambala jail since October 2017.

In August 2017 violence erupted in Panchkula following the conviction of the Dera chief in rape cases, that left more than 30 dead and several injured.
