Kok Choonk Na, a paraglider of Singaporean descent who went missing while paragliding in the Bir-Billing area of Himachal Pradesh on Monday was found dead on Tuesday in Kangra valley.
Sources said 53-year-old Chook, an ex-commando in the Singapore army, was a free flyer. His body was spotted by a team deputed to locate another missing paraglider, Jos Lewis from Spain.
According to the Baijnath Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), The exact reason behind Chook’s death would only be known after the post-mortem report was received.
SDM further said that another missing paraglider, 50-year-old Jose Lewis from Spain, was found alive who was missing since Saturday.
A number of foreign and domestic paragliders have swarmed the valley in the run-up to the Paragliding Pre-World Cup to be held in Bir Billing on October 27. Around 160 paragliders including foreigners have registered for the competition.
