Actor Payal Ghosh on Monday joined Union Minister Ramdas Athawale’s Republican Party of India (Athawale).

She joined the party along with some others in the presence of party chief Ramdas Athawale.

According to the sources, Payal Ghosh has been named as the vice president of women’s wing of the party.

Following her complaint, a case under Sections 376 (I) (rape), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty,), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 342 (wrongful confinement) of Indian Penal Code was registered.
