Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who took oath for a third consecutive term met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday, their first meeting after the assembly polls in the national capital.
The meeting took place at Shah’s residence.
After the meeting, Kejriwal in a tweet said that he had a “fruitful” meeting with Amit Shah.
“Met Hon’ble Home Minister Sh Amit Shah ji. Had a very good and fruitful meeting. Discussed several issues related to Delhi. Both of us agreed that we will work together for development of Delhi,” Kejriwal tweeted.
Arvind Kejriwal and his six ministers took oath on Sunday at Ramlila Maidan.
Kejriwal had invited PM Modi to his swearing-in ceremony.
PM Modi, who was in Varanasi on Sunday, later congratulated the AAP supremo on Twitter.
“I congratulate Shri @ArvindKejriwal on taking oath as Delhi’s CM earlier today. Best wishes to him for a fruitful tenure,” PM Modi had tweeted.
Kejriwal in his reply thanked PM Modi for warm wishes.
“Thank you for the warm wishes sir. I wish you could come today, but I understand you were busy. We must now work together towards making Delhi a city of pride for all Indians,” Kejriwal wrote.
The AAP emerged victorious with a majority of 62 seats in 70-member Delhi Assembly while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won eight seats.
