Global COVID-19 death toll passes 300,000

Global deaths linked to COVID-19 passed 300,000 while reported cases of the virus has increased to over 4.4 million.

The US has been worst affected from virus with more than 1.4 million cases and over 85,000 deaths.

The UK has the second-highest death toll with over 33,000, followed by Italy with more than 31,000 deaths.

France has recorded over 27,400 deaths and Spain has reported more than 27,300 fatalities.

The virus which was first originated in China’s Wuhan has spread to at least 185 countries.
