Global COVID-19 cases rise to 28.6 million with over 9,17,000 deaths

The death toll due to COVID-19 has surpassed 9,17,000, while over 28.6 million people got infected worldwide since surfacing in China late last year.

The United States has recorded the most deaths with over 1,97,000, followed by Brazil with more than 1,31,000 and India with more than 78,000 fatalities.

The US accounted for the world’s highest number of Covid-19 cases with over 6.58 million people infected. India came in second place with over 4.75 million cases.

Brazil ranks third in terms of cases. The country has so far recorded over 4.32 million COVID-19 cases followed by Russia, Peru, Colombia, Mexico and South Africa.
