Global coronavirus cases cross 18 million-mark

The number of coronavirus cases recorded worldwide has surpassed 18 million, while more than 6,80,000 people have lost their lives.

The United States remained the worst affected country as more than half of the world’s COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the US.

The US has so far reported over 4.6 million COVID-19 cases with more than 154,000 deaths, followed by Brazil, with more than 2.73 million cases and over 94,000 deaths.

The third worst-hit country is India, with over 18 lakh cases and 38135 deaths.

The virus which first originated from China’s Wuhan has infected at least 210 countries.
