Justice R. Subhash Reddy, Justice Hemant Gupta, Justice Mukesh Kumar Rasikbhai Shah and Justice Ajay Rastogi were on Friday sworn in as judges of Supreme Court.
They were administered the oath by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi.
With their appointment the strength of the top court judges has gone up to 28.
Justice Reddy, Justice Gupta, Justice Shah and Justice Rastogi were the Chief Justices of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Patna and Tripura High Courts, respectively before their elevation.
The Supreme Court collegium had recommended their elevation on October 29.
The president on Thursday had given his assent to the recommendation of the Supreme Court collegium for elevating the chief justices of different high courts, as Supreme court judges.
