India’s COVID-19 cases rise to 8,20,916; Death toll at 22,123

The number of coronavirus cases in India have risen to 8,20,916 as it recorded 27,114 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. A total of 22,123 coronavirus patients have lost their lives, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday.

There are 2,83,407 active cases while 5,15,385 have been cured/discharged, according to Health Ministry data.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 238461 with 9,893 fatalities.

Tamil Nadu has the second highest COVID-19 cases – 1,30,261 with 1,829 deaths followed by Delhi – 1,09,140 and 3,300 deaths, Gujarat – 40,069 cases and 2,022 fatalities and Uttar Pradesh – 33,700 cases and 889 deaths.

A total of 1,13,07,002 samples have been tested up to July 10 of which 2,82,511 samples were tested yesterday, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.
