Former CJI Ranjan Gogoi sworn in as Rajya Sabha member

Former Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi on Thursday took oath as Rajya Sabha member.

Several members of the Congress shouted ‘shame’ as Ranjan Gogoi took oath.

Members of opposition parties who opposed Gogoi’s appointment walked out from the House.

He was nominated to the Rajya Sabha by President Ram Nath Kovind.

Gogoi, retired as CJI last November after a tenure of over 13 months.
