Former BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar has been sentenced to 10 years in jail for the murder of Unnao rape survivor’s father who died in judicial custody in April 2018.
A Delhi court also ordered Sengar and his brother to pay Rs 10 lakh each to the family of the Unnao rape survivor.
The court on Wednesday convicted Sengar and six others in a case pertaining to custodial death of the father of Unnao rape victim whom Sengar raped three years ago.
In December last year, the court had sent Sengar to jail for “remainder of his natural biological life” for raping the girl.
The woman was allegedly abducted and raped by Sengar in 2017.
The rape complaint, however, was registered only after woman tried to immolate herself outside Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s official residence in Lucknow.
Sengar, a four-time BJP MLA, was expelled from the party in August 2019.
