Delhi and adjoining cities were covered in a thick blanket of fog on Monday morning, leading to disruptions in air and rail traffic.
At least thirty trains are running late due to low visibility. Three flights were diverted from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport due to heavy fog.
However, no flights have been cancelled so far, sources said.
Airlines issued an advisory to passengers to contact their respective airlines for flight updates.
“Due to bad weather, flight operations at Delhi airport are affected. CAT III B compliant aircraft and pilots are currently able to land. Passengers have been requested to stay in touch with the airline concerned for updated flight information,” Delhi Airport tweeted.
The national capital has been experiencing severe cold days since few days with the average minimum temperature on Sunday morning being recorded at 3.4 degrees Celsius.
