Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the Centre’s new farm laws will bring new possibilities for the farmers. The reforms will help the farmers get new markets and they would now have the option to sell their produce to mandis as well as outside.
“The farmers can sell their produce both at the mandis, as well as outside. Farmers can also sell their produce on digital platforms,” Modi said while speaking at the 93rd annual general meeting of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
“We’ve taken all these initiatives to increase the farmers’ income and make them more prosperous,” he added.
“More investment is expected in farming, after reforms. Post agri reforms, farmers will benefit the most,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister said India has market, manpower and mission mode.
“We have seen several ups and downs this year and when we look back and think about the COVID pandemic, we might not even believe it. However, the speed of recovery is good and things are getting back on track as fast as they had worsened,” Modi said.
“We have seen a lot of change in the 20-20 match with the pace. But this year of 2020 has beaten everything,” he added.
The Prime Minister said, “Our Nation has learnt a lot during this difficult time, and it has given our aspirations even more strength. A lot of credit goes to our entrepreneurs, youth, farmers and all Indian Citizens.”
