An encounter broke out on Sunday between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Parigam area following inputs about the presence of terrorists there.
The search operation turned into an encounter after terrorists fired upon security forces, who retaliated.
Chinar Corps, Indian Army in a tweet said, “Op Parigam, Pulwama. Joint search operation was launched today afternoon based on @JmuKmrPolice inputs. Terrorists fired at the Security Forces when the cordon was being laid, turning it into an encounter. Firefight ensued. Joint operation in progress.”
