An encounter broke out on Monday between terrorists and the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet said, “#Encounter has started at #Kawoosa area of #Budgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.”
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Kawoosa area following inputs about the presence of terrorists there.
The search operation turned into an encounter after the terrorists fired upon security forces, who retaliated. The exchange of fire is currently going on.
Chinar Corps, Indian Army in a tweet said, “Op Kawoosa Khalisa, Budgam. Joint operation was launched today afternoon based on @JmuKmrPolice inputs. Cordon was laid and contact established. Firefight ensued. Joint operation in progress.”
