Mumbai: Kalpesh and Priyanka Devre of Dhule created an example for others to emulate. They tied the nuptial knot by registering their marriage and saved a major amount that would have otherwise spent on the marriage extravaganza. They donated this amount to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund as a token help for the drought relief measures. They handed over an amount of Rs 2.51 lakh by cheque to Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis today.
Kalpesh, son of Parshuram Bhaidas Devre, a progressive farmer of Boris ( Distt Dhule) got betrotheted to Priyanka, daughter of another progressive farmer Sanjay Kashinath Sonvane of Umbhare (Taluka Sakri, Distt Dhule). Both the parties expressed their willingness to avoid extra expenses on the marriage ceremony. Thus, the money saved was donated to the state government to overcome the current drought situation in the state. The marriage was solemnized by register method.
The family members and parents of Kalpesh and Priynaka today met the Chief Minister at Mantralaya and handed him a cheque of Rs 2.51 lakh for CM’s relief Fund.
Former MLA Prof Sharad Patil accompanied the newlywed couple and their parents. The Chief Minister congratulated Kalpesh and Priyanka and their parents for this bold and exemplary step.
