Donald Trump says will meet PM Modi, Imran Khan soon

US President Donald Trump said that he would look forward to meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan soon, even as he maintained that tension between India and Pakistan had reduced.

Trump will be joining Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Houston’s mega event called “Howdy, Modi!” on September 22, the White House said on Sunday.

This will be the first time a US president and Indian Prime Minister will be addressing a joint rally.

According to the reports, over 50,000 Indian Americans from across the US have registered for the event to be held at the NRG Stadium in Houston.

As per the sources, Trump could meet the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly Session in New York later this month.

Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated over New Delhi’s decision to abrogate Article 370 that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan has been trying to internationalise the Kashmir issue. However, India has asserted that the decision on Article 370 was its internal matter.
